The 1,200 / 2,500 micron screens help prevent large foreign items being sucked into your system. From your pump, you connect a small hose to the suction strainer with minimum 150 kPa pressure. This turns a mechanism inside the suction strainer that sprays jets of water against the screen to help keep it clear of debris
